Agribiz Hosts First United Animal Health Nutrition Forum
Cross-Border Collaboration Opens New Chapter in Integrated Animal Health Solutions

Agribiz Corporation, in partnership with United Animal Health (USA), successfully held the “The First United Animal Health Nutrition Forum and Product Launch” on the afternoon of June 18 at the Shangri-La Far Eastern, Tainan. The event attracted over 200 participants from across Taiwan, including swine producers, veterinarians, academic researchers, and industry leaders.

The forum officially began at 1:30 PM with opening remarks delivered by Dr. Kuan-Yu Chuang, Chairman of Agribiz Corporation, and Dr. Dieyar Kakel, Vice President of International Sales at United Animal Health. In his speech, Dr. Chuang emphasized Agribiz’s 40-year commitment to Taiwan’s animal health sector and highlighted that while vaccine coverage in swine production is already widespread—with some Agribiz’s product market shares reaching 70–80%—challenges such as antimicrobial resistance, gut health, and production efficiency require integrated solutions across vaccines, pharmaceuticals, and nutritional science.

The first keynote was delivered by Dr. Ian Hands, Swine Business Unit Director – EMEA & APAC at United Animal Health, titled “United Animal Health: A Global Leader in Animal Nutrition and the No.1 Market Share in the U.S.” Introduced by Dean Ming-Tang Chiu of the National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST) School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Hands shared global developments in nutrition science and how their proprietary feed additives can reduce piglet mortality and enhance economic performance on farms. He stressed that antibiotic-free production is a global trend, and United Animal Health’s solutions are designed to meet this need.

Following that, Dr. Joel Spencer, Vice President of Swine Health Technical Services at United Animal Health, presented “FXP: The Revolutionary Functional Protein that Perfectly Replaces Plasma Protein.” With a U.S. market share nearing 80%, FXP offers a highly biosecure and immune-boosting protein source superior to traditional plasma. Field trials have shown it can reduce weaned piglet mortality by up to 30%. The session was introduced by Prof. Chia-Wei Lee from NPUST’s Department of Tropical Agriculture and International Cooperation.

After the coffee break, Brian Arnold, Senior Product Manager at United Animal Health, presented “Provent ECL: Species-Derived High-Performance Probiotics from Animal Gut Origins.” He explained how native intestinal strains can strengthen gut immunity and microbial balance while significantly reducing the need for antibiotics in feed. The session was introduced by Prof. Chao-Nan Lin, Chair of the Department of Veterinary Medicine at NPUST.

The next session featured Dr. Sam Shen, Operational Director – China, Taiwan & Malaysia, who spoke on “The Application of Amnil and M-Mobilize for Poultry: A Total Solution Balancing Environmental Sustainability and Food Safety.” Dr. Shen detailed how the products help minimize environmental burden while improving animal performance, and how they offer comprehensive solutions for managing mycotoxins in feed, ultimately enhancing egg quality and output. The session was introduced by Prof. Hung-Chih Kuo from the Department of Veterinary Medicine at National Chiayi University.

Next, Dr. Pai Liu, Swine Technical Manager at United Animal Health, presented “The Application of Amnil and M-Mobilize for Swine: A Total Solution Balancing Environmental Sustainability and Food Safety.” He shared field data and usage guidelines across production phases, showing that these solutions help reduce odor in pig houses and lower water usage during cleaning—meeting Taiwan’s increasing demand for environmentally sustainable practices. The session was introduced by Prof. Chih-Cheng Chang from National Taiwan University’s Department of Veterinary Medicine.

The forum concluded with a Q&A panel discussion, moderated by Prof. Cheng-Yao Yang from the Department of Veterinary Medicine at National Chung Hsing University. Speakers engaged directly with attendees in a lively exchange of insights.
The event concluded with a networking dinner banquet, during which Chairman Chuang and the visiting U.S. delegation raised a toast with all participants, expressing gratitude for their support and reaffirming the commitment to deepening technical collaboration and product implementation in Taiwan’s swine industry.

Agribiz stated that it will continue to integrate vaccines, biosecurity, and nutritional sciences to provide Taiwan’s livestock producers with comprehensive animal health management strategies—delivering on its promise to support the industry from “prevention to nutrition” and to drive toward a more efficient, sustainable future.
